The latch works as a lock. When the latch is down, it's very loose, almost no retention. When the latch is up it's incredibly tight and the gun is not going to come out. You can do back flips and that gun will stay in place.
With that being said, please for the love of God remember to lock your shit.
I make these loose because all you speed demons want to draw fast, so there's very little retention with the latch disengaged. If you start walking around with it unlocked, the gun can fall out. That's unsafe, it's a DQ, and chicks don't dig guys that DQ.
