 This collar is made of non-magnetic 303 stainless steel. It grips tight without damaging the valve surface. It fits the Crosman/Benjamin CO2 and PCP valves for models like 2240, 2250, 2260, Discovery, Maximus, Marauder Pistol and related models for much easier valve disassembly. The clamp screws fit a 3/16" hex wrench which is not included. For PCP valves one clamp on the valve cap and a bolt-handle or 8-32 screw threaded into one of the screw-holes on the body is generally enough leverage to twist it apart by hand, this is shown in the first photo. The PCP valves don't generally have threadlocker on the threads but occasionally do. For the brass CO2 valves two clamps generally works better, they often have threadlocker on the threads. If a valve doesn't twist apart easily with these methods it most likely has threadlocker, heating the valve with a heat-gun or lighter may be needed for it to twist apart, only heat over the threaded area and just enough to soften the threadlocker. The valve halves turn counter-clockwise from either end. Do not place the collar over the threaded sections of the valve, it will bind the threads making it harder to twist apart.

 We don't recommend threadlocker to assemble valves. Some CO2 valves have it, some don't but it's not necessary either way. The internal o-ring seals the two halves of the valve. Threadlocker is often used at the factory to keep the cap (chamber plug) on CO2 valves from loosening when you turn the piercing cap to remove the CO2 cartridge. There's not generally enough friction for the cartridge to turn the cap but it's used as a precaution. We never use it and have assembled thousands of valves since 2009 without a single issue.
